Award in the Industry 4.0 Competition

BONATRANS recently achieved an exceptional success.
The project "New Line for Machining Railway Wheels" won an award in the prestigious Industry 4.0 competition held by the Confederation of Industry and Transportation of the Czech Republic.
"The award is a proof of our technological excellence in the industry. The successful implementation is evidence not only of the technical prowess of our employees in Bohumín and the collaborating suppliers, but also of our long-term commitment to sustainable production and efficiency. The project is an excellent example of how modernization and investment in industry brings benefits to all stakeholders," say Mateusz Heczko, Investment Manager.
At the International Engineering Fair held this October in Brno, during a panel discussion on Industry 4.0, Mateusz presented the project to the public. In December, during the Industry 4.0 in Practice Conference, he received the award for the project. For context, it should be noted that the old line was in operation at the same location until the spring of 2020. Over forty years, more than 2 million wheels were produced on it. The new line, with an annual capacity of 60,000 wheels, has been in operation since May 2022, employing fifty people. Its concept was developed in the last years of the old line's operation, and the implementation phase of the entire investment took two years. The award belongs to everyone who contributed to the project.
